The social media are incredibly widespread in Russia. Many companies, offices or collectives do not run websites at all, but communicate their products and news via Instagram and Facebook. Also popular is VK, a network that is mainly spread in Russia and has over 100 million active users, but is completely unknown to me. In addition, the young people use Telegram as an alternative to WhatsApp, which is not only cooler, but also better encrypted, so that the state cannot read along.
