Hlebozavod9 is a cool creative quarter on the site of a former bread factory. This was part of a government programme to provide the population with sufficient bread. The engineer Georgij Marsakow developed a production plant in which the various work steps in a cylindrical building were connected over several floors with assembly lines. A total of 12 such factories were built in Moscow. Plant No. 9 went into operation fully automatically in 1934. It produced 190 tons of bread every day.
